Please save the date and note the dual actions: Fri 30th Oct – Book Fair setup / boat loading for Norton Cup Sat 31st Oct – Book Fair (parents required): 9am-5pm / Norton Cup: all day Sun 1st Nov – Book Fair pack down: 8-10am We have been given permission to use the Student Centre for the last weekend in October and will make the most of the opportunity considering everything has been previously planned and is ready to put into action again. However, to simplify the day, we will only be running the book fair for one day and will not be doing a bake sale or a sausage sizzle. Therefore we will only require a few helpers on each brief shift which will allow parents to also head to the regatta to watch your child and their crews race. The first draft roster will allocate parents to shifts which we can adjust when we confirm the crew racing times closer to the day. So please be prepared to be flexible on the roster duty. Further details will follow, but this is how the clash in the dates will work: Friday 30th Squads: Sen Boys, Sen Girls, Jun/Nov Girls - will be on boat loading for Norton Cup Squads: Jun Boys, Nov Boys - will be on book fair set up immediately after school Saturday 31st students will be racing in the Norton Cup parents are required for a brief book fair duty – roster to be confirmed. Sunday 1st Nov all students and some parents are required for the book fair pack down 8am – 10am. Ruamahanga training trips Training trips to the Ruamahanga form an essential part of the rowing season and we are kicking off on labour weekend. Sponsorship If anyone is interested in sponsorship opportunities with our club, then please contact Stephanie. [email protected] Onslow College owns our own boat trailer that has 2 sides available for company or promotional signage. The boat trailer is parked prominently on the Wellington waterfront for the whole year and travels numerous times throughout the North Island between Wellington, Wanganui, Cambridge and also to Twizel in the South Island every other year. The 5 day away regattas in Cambridge generate thousands of attendees from all over the North Island and the trailer has high visibility to these attendees, including just as many adults as students as the regattas are school and club adult events with lots of adult support crews. It is basically a travelling bill board! Sponsorship could help the Onslow College students with equipment and capital purchases for the benefit of existing and future generations of Onslow rowers. Otherwise, suggestion of use of sponsorship funds or purchases is also welcomed.
