Executive Committee
Our next Exec Committee meeting is tomorrow evening. I will provide an update from that meeting in next week’s Day Sheet. Finance Sub-Committee: A reminder that the $420 to cover costs for KR 1 is due into your rowing account today! Ruamhanga Training Unfortunately, with the awful Wellington Spring weather on Friday/ Saturday and a heap of competing demands on both the river and the WRA boats and trucks on Sunday – we weren’t able to get over the hill this weekend. Weather permitting we will try to make up for that next weekend (5/6 Dec). Please be aware this could involve an over-nighter on either Friday 4 Dec or Saturday 5 Dec. Your coaches will confirm details directly with each squad later in the week. If your rower is not available next weekend please let your coach know as soon as possible. The dates of our scheduled trainings at the Ruamahanga for the remainder of the season are: 5 or 6 Dec 16 or 17 Jan 6 or 7 Feb 27 or 28 Feb 5 or 6 March 12 or 13 March 26 and 27 March (Maadi crews only) And here are the dates of remaining Wellington-based regattas where an alternative trip to the Ruamahanga is always on the cards! 19 Dec 23 January 12 March KR 1 – Karapiro Christmas Regatta Our first big regatta of the season is now only about 10 days away. If you have any questions about this regatta please contact the regatta co-ordinator, Olwyn Crutchely.

Executive Committee
Our next Exec Committee meeting is on Monday 30 November. If you have anything you wish to raise with the Committee please email either me or Dave Marston by mid-day Saturday 28 Nov. Please also feel to contact either one of us at any time if you have any questions or concerns. Finance Sub-Committee: With KR1 less than a month away, a reminder that $420 is due into your rowing account by Sunday 29 November 2015. Wellington Regattas and Ruamhanga Training Just a reminder that when Wellington-based regattas are cancelled we have a standing default plan to go to the Ruamahanga for training instead. My apologies if this caught some people by surprise this weekend, but I understand the training itself was extremely successful. To avoid any future surprise visits to the Ruamahanga – here are the dates of our scheduled trainings at the Ruamahanga for the remainder of the season: 28 or 29 Nov 16 or 17 Jan 6 or 7 Feb 27 or 28 Feb 5 or 6 March 12 or 13 March 26 and 27 March (Maadi crews only) And here are the dates of remaining Wellington-based regattas where an alternative trip to the Ruamahanga is always on the cards! 19 Dec 23 January 12 March WRC Christmas party! The WRC Christmas Party is on the evening of the 27th of November, from 6.30pm, there is a cover charge of $20 for adults and $10 for U18’s. There will be free drinks (soft and harder stuff) until they run out. All WRA clubs have been allocated a type of plate to bring along – and we have been asked to bring mains. This has been a great event for the last three years - rowers are encouraged to bring their families and come and have a good time. Regattas and post regatta tidy-up in Wellington
Our next regatta is McLauchlin Shield this coming Saturday on Wellington Harbour. OCRC is required to help with boat loading and other tidy-up duties once the regatta is over, and we will make sure that the crews carry out this task fairly. Two crews will be rostered on for each Wellington regatta, and your coaches will advise you which crews those are closer to the time. Be aware that if your crew is rostered for post-regatta tidy-up you may be delayed for a time after the regatta has officially finished before you can go home. Summer Camp For those of you making travel plans around the dates for Summer Camp, please note that rowers are required to be at camp by 10am on Tuesday 5 January; and will be ready to leave camp again by approximately 2pm on Sunday 10 January. Website Steph Clark has been doing a fantastic job of developing a website for us and this will be ready to launch soon. We’d like to put photos of our rowers onto the site – so please let me know by the end of this week (20 November) if you do not want us to post photos of your rower/s on the OCRC website. The purpose of the site will be to keep our community up to date with regattas, training programmes, information from the Exec and the like; and also to promote OCRC to anyone who is considering joining us in the future. Mattresses for bargain hunters! Deidre has managed to sniff out a deal for us with the Warehouse. If we can get 10 or more orders together they will sell us a foam mattress and pillow normally valued at $75 each for just $60 each. These can be used for overnighting at the Ruamahanga or at Whanganui during the Whanganui regattas, and for sleeping at the Cambridge Raceway at Karapiro. If you’re interested, please contact Deidre directly. WRC Christmas party!
