Parent Help for away trips If you would like to help at any of the away events this season, the please contact Stephanie: We need parent help for the following events:
We will continue planning as though the major regattas will proceed, until told otherwise. Fingers crossed! And we might also get a list of back up parents for each trip in case we need to do a last min swap out if someone needs to go into isolation. Get your vaccine! I’m sure we have all heard about the Government’s new traffic light system coming into play once we hit 90% fully vaxed. So, we encourage everyone to go and get the vaccine asap. Under this new system, outdoor events will require vaccine certificates for attendance for everyone aged 12+. Additional to this, MoH guidelines require all adult volunteers in contact with students to be fully vaccinated. So, if you are thinking about volunteering for away trips, please get the double jab! Ruamahanga training trips Training trips to the Ruamahanga form an essential part of the rowing season and we are kicking off on early Nov. Your coach will provide the training schedule details and your squad manager will provide additional logistics and arrange car-pooling. Please ensure you offer transport for these trips throughout the season to evenly spread the load for your squad. Fees Fees for LTR, LTR camp, WRC, and rowsuits have been added to your school accounts for payment. Uniform costs will also be added shortly. Please pay as soon as possible. Thank you. WRC fees: http://www.wellingtonrowing.org.nz/Register-1 Uniforms Uniforms have been ordered and should be ready for delivery within the next 2-3 weeks. Sponsorship If anyone is interested in sponsorship opportunities with our club, then please contact [email protected] Onslow College owns our own boat trailer that has 2 sides available for company or promotional signage. The boat trailer is parked prominently on the Wellington waterfront for durations of the season and travels numerous times throughout the North Island between Wellington, Wanganui, Cambridge and also to Twizel in the South Island every other year. The 5 day away regattas in Cambridge generate thousands of attendees from all over the North Island and the trailer has high visibility to these attendees, including just as many adults as students as the regattas are school and club adult events with lots of adult support crews. It is basically a travelling bill board! Sponsorship could help the Onslow College students with equipment and capital purchases for the benefit of existing and future generations of Onslow rowers.
