Congratulations to Olivia Clark and Constance Stirling who won a Bronze medal in the GU16 double at the 2016 Maadi at Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel. The first Onslow girls crew to win a Maadi medal in 40 years!
Well done to all of our crews who competed in the Maadi Cup regatta at Twizel recently. In particular – congratulations to our Under 16 Girls’ Quad (Alice Loretto, Olivia Clark, Maggie Booker, Constance Stirling + Ella Greenslade), Under 16 Girls Double (Olivia Clark and Constance Stirling) and Under 16 Girls’ Single (Olivia Clark); all of whom made A Finals – with the Under 16 Girls’ Double making it into the medals. Fantastic results to finish the season with! Joe Wright and Jamie Hunter who were students at Onslow College and rowed for the school from 2007-2010, have been selected to represent New Zealand at the Olympics. They join a select group of elite athletes from Onslow College who have represented their country at the highest level. The last rower from Onslow College to compete at the Olympics was Alec McLean in 1976. Our very best wishes go with Joe and Jamie as they head over to Rio to compete!
