Also need help at NISSC, but we can sort that one closer to the event. Given the potential covid situation, we might need to have a list of back up parents. So if you are actually going to be at any of the Karapiro regattas to watch your child race, then please let us know, so that we can have you as back up if the need arises. Likewise with Wanganui summer camp, if you will be on holiday back in Wgtn or in Wanganui, then let us know if we could contact you at short notice to fill in, if required. Please contact Stephanie: [email protected] Attendance at summer events Can all rowers please let their coach and squad manager know asap (by 27th Nov) if you are not able to attend any of the 3 summer away trips. The budgets and EOTC need to be completed in one week’s time for issue to school, so attendance is vital to get as correct as possible as this sets the budget. Check the regatta and camp schedule: https://ocrowingclub.weebly.com/regattas--camps.html or look at the dates at the top of this newsletter. Get your vaccine passport! Thanks to everyone for getting onto the vaccine forms so quickly. Just waiting on a few last replies. A reminder that attendance at training at WRC, attendance at camp, attendance at Karapiro regattas – all require you to be fully vaccinated with 2 shots. Proof of vaccination will be required for Karapiro regattas, so get your vaccine passport ready! This applies to everyone age 12+, rowers, coaches, parent help, spectators, supporters etc. Vaccination forms All parent help / volunteers and coaches should now have sent in the school vaccination form with proof of vaccination: · Vaccination Records - CLICK HERE All OCRC members should now have completed the OCRC vaccination form: · https://forms.gle/WvTWZBNnKD1TZh5Z8 Fees Fees for LTR, LTR camp, WRC, rowsuits and uniforms have been added to your school accounts for payment. Please pay as soon as possible. Thank you. Fees for the summer events will be loaded before school finishes. Please ensure you pay each one well before your rower gets on the bus! Thanks. OCRC Subs OCRC Subs for 2021-22 season have been set at: · $100 coach levy · $150 equipment levy (subject to a successful bookfair, with the option to move $50 of this amount into the coach levy fund if needed) Coach levy covers reimbursement to coaches so that they are not out of pocket for expenses incurred in coaching our students. Equipment levy covers boat and equipment maintenance and every second year our racing boat fleet stays in Cambridge after Maadi Cup for refurbishment to keep the boats in top condition. The funds for this are built up over a 2 year period. The boats were just refurbished last Maadi and therefore some of this years funds will be carried over to next year. OCRC subs will be added to your school account shortly and should be paid prior to school commencing next year. Book Fair The Book Fair has been scheduled for Saturday 18th Dec, with set up on the Friday night 17th and pack down on Sun morning, 19th. Yes, this does now clash with KR1, but we scheduled it, thinking KR1 would be cancelled and have the opportunity of a free central venue. So there will be a few parents away on regatta duty, all the kids will be away but we have a plan. If all families who are here in Wellington can please ensure you save a few hours on this weekend to pitch in with our one fund raising event. More details will come out soon and a roster will be created for an allocated shift over the Saturday. Sponsorship If anyone is interested in sponsorship opportunities with our club, then please contact [email protected] Onslow College owns our own boat trailer that has 2 sides available for company or promotional signage. The boat trailer is parked prominently on the Wellington waterfront for durations of the season and travels numerous times throughout the North Island between Wellington, Wanganui, Cambridge and also to Twizel in the South Island every other year. The 5 day away regattas in Cambridge generate thousands of attendees from all over the North Island and the trailer has high visibility to these attendees, including just as many adults as students as the regattas are school and club adult events with lots of adult support crews. It is basically a travelling bill board! Sponsorship could help the Onslow College students with equipment and capital purchases for the benefit of existing and future generations of Onslow rowers.Facebook Group Join the Facebook group to keep up with reminders and photos from rowing events. · Onslow College Rowing Finally, all the best to the seniors sitting NCEA exams over the coming weeks and have a good Christmas!
