WANGANUI CLUB CHAMPS REGATTA
This coming weekend we have the Whanganui Champs and training day. We head up to Wanganui after school on Fri 3rd Feb. Regatta is Sat 4th Feb and a training day Sun 5th Feb.
Own transport to and from Wanganui, so please arrange carpooling in your squad if required.
Please note that we have invited the Onslow rowers currently rowing out of the Porirua Club to join with us at the conclusion of the regatta and stay for the training day. I have attached the text of the email I sent to them FYI. Four rowers have accepted the invitation, please make them feel welcome and included. If you have any questions about this I am happy to discuss or you can also discuss with your coach or committee member. Please note that under club rules existing club rowers have preference for selection.
The coaching team are beginning to consider squads for Maadi selection later in the season and will shortly be asking rowers about their availability for selection. Maadi is at Karapiro this year from 25 March to 1 April.
Thanks to Stephanie for taking the initiative to get 2 trestle tables for use at regattas – much easier than borrowing the heavy raceway ones!
Jamie heading to Club Nationals
Jamie , our u18 rower, has been invited to row with the WRC mens’ crew down in Twizel at Club Nationals during the week 13 to 18 Feb. He’ll be rowing in an 8, and possibly a 4, as well as the single. Best wishes Jamie!
