Executive Committee
The next OCRC Executive Committee meeting is at 7:15pm on 20 September. Please let me know if there is anything you would like the Committee to discuss. Learn to Row programme LTR Camp Learn to Row camp starts Fri 23rd Sept (7.30pm) to Tues 27th Sept (2pm) and is held at the Wanganui River Top 10 Holiday Camp. An information sheet has been sent out with all the details for camp. Key points to note are that we start at 7:30pm on Friday 23rd after your rower has been fed and delivered to the Top Ten Holiday Park in Whanganui; and we will be getting away no later than 2pm on Tuesday 27 September. Please do join us for the LTR regatta at 11am on Tuesday – it’s always great fun! Consent and Health forms need to be returned urgently - Please hand in your membership/Consent and Health forms by Tuesday 13 September. Your rower cannot attend camp without these forms. Give to Stephanie Clark via Olivia or a coach or email the completed form to Stephanie. Whether you are going to camp or not, these forms need to be completed for the rowing season. LTR Fees A reminder to all those who have not yet paid their LTR fees to please do so urgently - $260 per rower to OCRC account. Please clearly identify the name of your rower when making an electronic payment. Note that should you decide to continue with rowing for the coming season, the $260 will be off-set against your WRC season fees. LTR Camp Fee These are also due and must be paid before LTR camp starts - $270 per rowers into OCRC account. Please clearly identify the name of your rower when making an electronic payment. WRC Registration All rowers, Novices and experienced rowers must now be registered on the Wellington Rowing Club website: https://wellingtonrowing.org.nz/join/ Failure to register before the beginning of the 2016/17 summer season proper (which starts with LTR Camp) may mean that you are unable to train or compete in WRC boats or use WRC gear and equipment. OCRC Book Fair The OCRC Book Fair will be held from 10am to 3pm on both Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September at the Hui Room (beside the Karaka café which is right beside the WRC on Taranaki Street Wharf). We will continue to happily accept donations of good books, CDs and DVDs right through the weekend. Set up is this Friday 16 Sept, so please do come along and lend a hand – its good fun, you get a sneak peek at the great books on offer, and it makes the job go much faster! We look forward to seeing you there J Annual General Meeting The OCRC Annual General Meeting will be held at 7pm in the Student Centre at Onslow College on Wednesday 19 October. Please mark this date in your diaries as we will need to vote on some changes to our OCRC Rules, and we will also need to elect a new Committee. Our current Committee has been elected to hold office for one year, and the following Committee members have signalled that they are happy to remain for another term of office:
We will send out formal notice of the AGM and call for nominations in September – but please start giving some thought to whether you would like to serve on the Committee, or whether there are others you would like to nominate. Fundraiser Quiz Night 20 November – 1841 Bar, Johnsonville Please save this date in your calendars as it will be one of our two major fundraisers for the year and will help get our rowers to some of the big regattas later in the season. We are starting the planning for this and the main thing we would like you to help with will be ticket sales, helpers on the night and raffle donations. We will send out details nearer the time, but meanwhile we would like to hear from you if you have contacts or a business that might be willing to donate goods or services for an auction that we can run on the night. We would also be interested in Rowing related memorabilia - especially if you can get us a signed ‘Bond and Murray’ cap or the like! Contact Steve Watters
